It’s heating  up so a good time to remind you about some handy tips for your air conditioning system.

  • Remember to keep your air filters clean every two to three months. Hose out the clean side first followed by hosing the dirty side (to avoid pushing dirt into the filter), leave to dry for 10 minutes and replace.
  •  Keep that outdoor unit (condenser) clean and clear from obstructions. Turn system of at mains if dust, leaves etc appear to be blocking copper coils (back and side) and give a good hosing, allow to drain / dry for 30 minutes and turn back on.
  •  If a fault occurs turn the power off at the outdoor unit location or in the switchboard at the a/c circuit breaker leave for 15 minutes and reset. If problems still persist contact Stinson Air.
  •  Ensure ceiling vents are blowing along ceiling (not down) to prevent draughts, this can be reversed in winter.
  •  Remember on those stinking hot Perth days, if you are about to turn your system on after work or in the afternoon – check if the Fremantle doctor is blowing first if so open up the house flush the hot stale air out and then turn your system on. Reduce your power costs and carbon footprint at the same time.
  •  Enjoy your climate controlled paradise!

287What a great year this has been for Stinson Air, we recently joined Club Daikin which is on top of  being recognized as a Daikin Super Dealer every year since 2005. Club Daikin puts us in the very top percentage of successful Daikin specialists Australia wide. We (my wife Mel and myself) received the award from the heads of Daikin Australia and Japan at an awards ceremony on Sydney Harbour in October.

As well as receiving the award and being in Sydney to help celebrate Daikins 40th Anniversary, we were also invited to the official opening of Daikin Australia’s new head office in Chipping Norton NSW. What an impressive building which has received numerous architecture and energy efficient building awards in it’s own right. While at the opening we also received a factory tour to see what an impressive operation the Australian manufacturing division is. While all condensing units are produced from other parts of the world, the Australian factory produces thousands of ducted fan coil units that are purposely designed to meet Australia’s extreme weather conditions.

Other highlights included a very impressive Daikin fireworks display to celebrate the birthday on Sydney Harbour and a day at Randwick racecourse.

Thank you Daikin for the great hospitality

porthedlandStinson Air has just been awarded a contract to supply and install 30 Daikin air conditioners in a new project in Port Hedland. Although Stinson Air specialises in the Perth metro area we still have the resources to carry out projects in the North West and other remote areas. We look forward to working with Colin Wilkinson Developments on this exciting project. This new project adds to our past tally of remote projects from areas as diverse and remote as Wiluna, Christmas Island, Broome, Yallingup and Meekathara.

Do you have a project that needs air conditioning whether local or remote? Talk to Stinson Air.

Dhonvelli Maldives - Daran Pics 179Recently while at a business seminar I had the pleasure of meeting Scott Macintosh the State Manager of Carbon Planet Australia and we were filled in on all about the impliations of the CRTS and the effects it will have on industry and our own industry as well. We at Stinson Air have come up with a plan to be carbon measured, which will then give us recommendations on how we can reduce our Carbon footprint here at Stinson Air. This is all very new to us and we are certainly learning more and more as we investigate the issue. We are obviously involved in a topical industry when it comes to energy use and green house gas emmisions. We look forward to playing our part by reducing our own emmissions, but primarily we see our role in society is to provide our clients with the most energy efficient airconditioning systems and designs that we can. We also believe we can help educate our clients in clever house design which can help to reduce their air conditioning use  We are already a member of the Australian Refrigeration Council who are constantly looking at ways to improve emmissions from our industry.

There will be plenty to report on this issue into the new year…… WATCH THIS SPACE!!

Picture 039Hi all, I am pleased to announce that in September of 2009 Stinson Air officially joined up as a member of the MBA. This membership backs up our already existing membership with the HIA, we believe this will help us keep up with all the latest trends, including safety issues, new products, market statistics and much much more. Stinson Air is heavily involved in the Perth construction industry and sees this as another way to keep us on top of issues that effect the construction industry.
